District Committees
District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC)
A district is required to form a DELAC if it has 51 or more English learner students. The committee is composed of school staff, parents of EL students, other parents and community members who are interested in English learner programs. At least 51 percent of the committee must be made up of parents of English learner students who are not employed by the district. DELAC members are elected by ELAC members at school sites. The overall goal of the DELAC is to improve our English learners’ acquisition of fluency in English and to help our students achieve academic success.
Parent Advisory Committee (PAC+)
The Parent Advisory Committee to the Superintendent (PAC) is comprised of parent representatives from each school. They meet with the Superintendent and other district staff on a monthly basis during the school year to help implement and monitor the elements of the Local Control Accountability Plan.
Round Table
The Superintendent's Parent Roundtable is a longstanding tradition at AUSD. The group meets several times each school year to learn and share new information about the district, to ask questions and get answers. AUSD has great parent support and participation!
